The Lukavac Cement Factory has successfully completed an energy efficiency project co-financed by the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund. The project entitled “Modernization of the clinker production process using a more efficient and environmentally justified source of heat” has been implemented over the past 12 months.

The aim of the project was to modernize the existing clinker production process, which meant replacing the old fuel oil boiler room with a more energy efficient and environmentally justified alternative way of heating energy with a reduction of heat losses up to 50%. Project activities included the replacement of the old and the installation of a new electric boiler including electrical and mechanical work, education of employees and the preparation of a feasibility study for investment in renewable energy sources. The project value of all works is 347,859 BAM, out of which the co-financing share of the Fund is 100,000 BAM.
