Last Thursday, October 26, 2024, representatives of Lukavac Cement participated in the “100 largest in BIH and the region – ESG Impulse 2024” conference which gathered the most successful businessmen and leading experts from BIH and the region. Our company has been supporting this important business event organized by Poslovne Novine for years.
Stjepan Kumrić, our General Manager, was a participant and panelist at the Business Forum entitled “10 years of the Berlin Process – The Western Balkans as an Economic Area on the way to the EU” which was held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in Berlin with the presence of about 250 participants.
On September 19-20, the 13th CONGRESS ON TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT – ROADS was held in Sarajevo. The event was organized by the Association of Consulting Engineers of BIH (UKI BIH) in cooperation with the European Union Road Federation (ERF), where our companies Lukavac Cement and Lukavac Beton also participated. Lukavac Cement was also a platinum sponsor of this important event.
In Lukavac Cement, minor overhaul activities were undertaken to improve certain production processes, which is why the rotary kiln line was stopped.
On Tuesday, September 17, the restart of production will follow, and due to the heating of the rotary kiln, smoke will be seen from the factory, which is a normal phenomenon in this process, until the establishment of a warm operating mode.
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Open Day was held in the green park of our factory. This was the 14th edition of our traditional family event, where numerous citizens of Lukavac and its surroundings gathered. A variety of educational, sports and entertainment content made children and young people especially amused.
Lukavac Cement recently established and accredited a section of its Production Control Service – Laboratory, dedicated to testing SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) alternative fuel and hardened concrete. This section now operates under the name Testing Laboratory.
In its commitment to providing high-quality services, accurate, and reliable testing results, both for its own needs and now for external clients, the Testing Laboratory has been accredited. With the issuance of the Accreditation Certificate on June 26, 2024, the Institute for Accreditation of BIH confirmed that our laboratory meets all requirements in accordance with the BAS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard for testing competence.

We invite dear citizens of Lukavac of all generations to join us at the 14th Open Door Day. In this year when we are celebrating our 50th birthday, it is important for us to traditionally gather, celebrate and have a good time.
Lukavac Cement donated air conditioners as well as air conditioning installations for waiting rooms, doctor’s offices and other rooms to the Lukavac Health Center. The value of the project was 50,000.00 BAM. A ceremonial handover took place on August 20th, 2024.
