Our concrete plants East Sarajevo and East Ilidža have become richer for 6 new modern Mercedes concrete mixers. This is an important investment for the Lukavac Beton – due to the business expansion, there was a need to procure additional vehicles for the transport of concrete, which ensures the quality of fresh concrete, faster delivery process and customer satisfaction.

AUSTRIAN AMBASSADOR IN BIH VISITED THE LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY

Her Excellency, dr. Ulrike Hartmann, Austrian Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited our factory on Friday, June 18th, 2021. Accompanied by General Manager Stjepan Kumrić, she visited the production facilities, and briefly expressed her satisfaction with the successful cooperation and nurturing very good economic relations between the two countries.

MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION SIGNED BETWEEN LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY, TUZLA FACULTIES AND MUNICIPALITY OF LUKAVAC

The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with Faculties of Technology, Electrical Engineering and Economics of the University of Tuzla and the Municipality of Lukavac was held today at the Lukavac Cement Factory. The reason for this cooperation is a new project launched by the Lukavac Cement Factory planning to employ the five best graduates from area of the Municipality of Lukavac.

The Lukavac Cement Factory was an active participant in the event “Don’t let waste to turn into garbage”, organized by the City Development Agency of Banja Luka and the Faculty of Technology of the University of Banja Luka and supported by the European Commission. On May 25th, our production manager, Damir Mulamehmedović, took this opportunity to participate as a lecturer at the Faculty of Technology as part of the initiative “European socio-economic regions 2021-ESER”.

On May 18th 2021, the conference “Platform for Low Carbon Development of Tuzla and Posavina Cantons” was held in Tuzla where our company was represented by technology engineer Tima Omerović Smajlović. On that occasion, she presented the topic “Waste as an energy source in the industry” and she described one of the successful ways of waste management in our country on the example of the use of alternative fuels in the Lukavac Cement Factory.

Last week, members of the Presidency of the Environmental Protection Forum of the Municipality of Lukavac visited the Lukavac Cement Factory and discussed the use of alternative fuels in its plants and other environmental issues. The meeting initiated by the management of the Lukavac Cement was held with the aim of further clarifying, but also showing on the spot how to use fuel from waste.

On April 4th and May 5th 2021, the Foreign Trade Chamber of BIH organized a webinar “Opportunities for implementation and financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in BiH industry.” Engineer Emir Ćilimković, process manager in our factory, was a lecturer at this important event where he presented to the participants how to use energy efficiency measures to improve the industrial process, based on the example of the Lukavac Cement Factory.

HUMANITY IN ACTION: DONATION OF NINE LAPTOPS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITHOUT PARENTAL CARE

On Thursday, April 1st 2021, the Lukavac Cement Factory donated nine laptops to the Home for children without parental care in Tuzla. We were happy to respond to the invitation to participate in the project “MY WEB – MY FUTURE” initiated by the civic association “Venus Amica” from Tuzla in cooperation with the Public Institution – Home for children without parental care and the Public Institution – Center for Social Work Tuzla.
