HUMANITY IN ACTION: DONATION OF NINE LAPTOPS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITHOUT PARENTAL CARE
On Thursday, April 1st 2021, the Lukavac Cement Factory donated nine laptops to the Home for children without parental care in Tuzla. We were happy to respond to the invitation to participate in the project “MY WEB – MY FUTURE” initiated by the civic association “Venus Amica” from Tuzla in cooperation with the Public Institution – Home for children without parental care and the Public Institution – Center for Social Work Tuzla.
“Children need our help and it is our duty to take care of this most sensitive category of our community. The goal of the project is to educate and create better opportunities for children and youth without parental care. Our donation is a small contribution to their brighter future, considering that they leave home after finishing high school and have to take care of themselves. During the three-month training “Basics of Web Design”, they will acquire the necessary knowledge and certification in this area. This should enable them to find a job easier and provide financial independence” – said Nihad Begić, Marketing and Sales Director of the Lukavac Cement.
It is important to highlight that donated laptops remain in the permanent ownership of the trainees. The Lukavac Cement Factory will continue to support quality education for children and youth so they can get equal chances for a better future.
