LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY ATTENDED THE EVENT “DON’T LET WASTE TO TURN INTO GARBAGE”
The Lukavac Cement Factory was an active participant in the event “Don’t let waste to turn into garbage”, organized by the City Development Agency of Banja Luka and the Faculty of Technology of the University of Banja Luka and supported by the European Commission. On May 25th, our production manager, Damir Mulamehmedović, took this opportunity to participate as a lecturer at the Faculty of Technology as part of the initiative “European socio-economic regions 2021-ESER”.
Based on the example of use of alternative fuels in our factory, he familiarized the participants with possibilities of their application in the cement industry, including all the environmental benefits.
During the training, innovative solutions in environmental protection were presented, primarily those that relate to recycling and rehabilitation of space. The existing problems and ways to solve them were also discussed, while the examples from practice showed what can be improved.
The Lukavac Cement Factory is happy to support educational events and is always ready to contribute to a better understanding of adequate disposal and utilization of waste as an important energy resource. It is planned to continue cooperation with these institutions in the future with new and concrete project proposals that will certainly improve the state of the environment in BiH and the region.
