LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY DONATED SMART BOARDS FOR SIX ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN BIH
During October, the Lukavac Cement Factory implemented the donor project “Smart boards for smart schoolchildren” in cities where it has its offices. The donation of modern, interactive boards pleased teachers and students in six elementary schools: “Tušanj” in Tuzla, “Lukavac Grad” in Lukavac, “Sveti Sava” in Bijeljina, “Jovan Dučić” in Zalužani, “Aleksa Šantić” in Vojkovići and “Edhem Mulabdić” in Sarajevo. The factory also organized the installation of boards through applicable software and other tools, as well as training for education staff in all six schools.
Nihad Begić, marketing and sales director, pointed out that the project “Smart boards for smart schoolchildren” is just one in a series of social responsibility projects implemented by the Lukavac Cement Factory which helped certain schools in these difficult times.
“Being aware of all the difficult conditions in which many teachers and students work, we have decided to donate smart boards to schools in places where our production plants for cement and concrete are located. One of the reasons for this initiative is that we could not hold our regular Open Day on September, when we always host many students. It is well-known that we are a company that follows modern trends, and which dedicates its socially responsible projects, to the greatest extent, to children and youth, their better education and healthy development. We believe that the use of new technologies is of great importance in the teaching process and that it contributes to innovation and motivation of students, and facilitates work for teachers, especially now during corona crisis when it is important to keep distance and ensure quality online teaching. Blackboards enable dynamism, flexibility and interactivity in teaching, thus further encouraging the active role of students”- added Begić.
The Lukavac Cement and Lukavac Beton want to support the modernization of teaching in BiH and provide students with the most interesting and high-quality classes through donating smart board interactive whiteboards of the latest generation, worth almost 28,000.00 BAM. Investing in the education of young people and modern technology of the 21st century is one of the priorities of the Lukavac Cement Factory, which implements and supports all initiatives and actions that bring long-term benefits to the wider community.
