LUKAVAC CEMENT IS AGAIN A FINALIST FOR THE “BUSINESS LEADER OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN BIH FOR 2024” AWARD
Lukavac Cement is a finalist in the “Resources and Environment” category for medium-sized companies within the Award for “Business Leader of Sustainable Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024” for the fourth time. At the same time, it is another confirmation and recognition of our company for the continuity of investment in research, development and transition towards a sustainable production and business.
We implement advanced systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce harmful gas emissions. Thus, among other things, an expert system for the rotary kiln was introduced to increase the share of alternative fuels, while the new analyzer enables continuous monitoring of flue gases.
We also focus on optimizing the process by installing grease and oil separators for industrial water purification and optimizing the operation of the main burner to reduce the use of fossil fuels. We have also introduced an Energy Management System that enables monitoring of energy consumption in real-time, while the utilization of waste heat from the compressor contributes to the reduction of fuel oil consumption.
Being a pioneer and an inspiration to others is only possible if we implement our visions and goals into actions which results are visible and measurable within the company, but also in the local environment where we operate.
The winners of the Award for Business Leaders of Sustainable Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be formally announced on August 20 of this year.
