THE REGULAR ANNUAL OVERHAUL MAINTENANCE OF THE LUKAVAC CEMENT PLANT
As of February 18, 2023, the regular overhaul of the Lukavac Cement plant has been started. The kiln’s operation for clinker production has been stopped until April 5, 2023. Meanwhile, numerous activities will occur so that the factory can continue operating at full capacity in the following period.
“The overhaul of our facilities is a very important procedure that is planned and carried out with the participation of our engineers, employees, and specialist companies from the country and abroad. After the success of last year when we achieved a record production of clinker, it is time to inspect the facilities in detail, remove possible defects, optimize the processes, and ensure everything will be ready for the production of clinker and cement to achieve good results again” – pointed out Nedim Pašić, technical director of Lukavac Cement.
One of the goals of the overhaul is to further increase the share of alternative fuels in the production process as well as to reduce the use of fossil fuels and increase energy efficiency.
By exploiting all the potential of energy efficiency, and working on the principles of sustainability, the Lukavac Cement is also following the path of low-carbon development which directly affects the preservation of natural resources and the protection of the environment.
