Study “Transformation of the Western Balkans through Nearshoring and Decarbonization” presented at the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH

Yesterday, the study titled “Transformation of the Western Balkans through Nearshoring and Decarbonization” was presented to the business community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with representatives from companies, institutions, and organizations in attendance. As part of the event, a panel discussion “Effects of Nearshoring and Decarbonization from the Private Sector Perspective” was held, including our general director, Stjepan Kumrić.

At the end of last week, a Business Forum was held in Budapest, which was attended by our general director Stjepan Kumrić, sales and marketing director Nihad Begić, finance executive director Damir Imamović, and Talentis Group representative Róbert Csatai.

On September 19-20, the 13^th CONGRESS ON TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT – ROADS was held in Sarajevo. The event was organized by the Association of Consulting Engineers of BIH (UKI BIH) in cooperation with the European Union Road Federation (ERF), where our companies Lukavac Cement and Lukavac Beton also participated. Lukavac Cement was also a platinum sponsor of this important event.

PRODUCTION STARTS AFTER THE OVERHAUL BREAK AT LUKAVAC CEMENT

In Lukavac Cement, minor overhaul activities were undertaken to improve certain production processes, which is why the rotary kiln line was stopped.

On Tuesday, September 17, the restart of production will follow, and due to the heating of the rotary kiln, smoke will be seen from the factory, which is a normal phenomenon in this process, until the establishment of a warm operating mode.

OPEN DOOR DAY 2024 – A HANDFUL OF GOOD ENTERTAINMENT AND FUN

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Open Day was held in the green park of our factory. This was the 14^th edition of our traditional family event, where numerous citizens of Lukavac and its surroundings gathered. A variety of educational, sports and entertainment content made children and young people especially amused.

A NEW ACHIEVEMENT FOR LUKAVAC CEMENT: FIRST ACCREDITED LABORATORY FOR TESTING ALTERNATIVE FUELS IN BIH

Lukavac Cement recently established and accredited a section of its Production Control Service – Laboratory, dedicated to testing SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) alternative fuel and hardened concrete. This section now operates under the name Testing Laboratory.

In its commitment to providing high-quality services, accurate, and reliable testing results, both for its own needs and now for external clients, the Testing Laboratory has been accredited. With the issuance of the Accreditation Certificate on June 26, 2024, the Institute for Accreditation of BIH confirmed that our laboratory meets all requirements in accordance with the BAS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard for testing competence.
