LUKAVAC CEMENT: EXAMPLE OF GOOD PRACTICE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE OF BIH
As a diamond sponsor of the recently held International Conference “Building Sustainable Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Lukavac Cement was presented as an example of good practice in the field of sustainable development and environmental protection. Stjepan Kumrić, general manager and Nedim Pašić, technical director, had the opportunity to participate in important panel discussions at the conference and present the achievements of Lukavac Cement.
They particularly highlighted the process of using alternative fuel as a safe way of valorizing waste that brings multiple benefits both for the social community and the cement plant itself.
The use of this “green fuel” significantly reduces CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and achieves many other positive effects.
Thanks to the exceptional effort and work of Lukavac Cement in the last decade and its constant commitment to the promotion of sustainability and environmental protection, this is certainly one of the successful models of how to build a sustainable BiH in the area of waste elimination and disposal in a safe and energy-efficient manner.
We want to encourage others to take action and transform towards sustainable business and circular economy through our initiatives and harmonize with the concepts of sustainable development in the areas of the environment, social responsibility and corporate governance by applying ESG standards.
