REGULAR PLANT OVERHAUL UNTIL MARCH IN THE LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY

The regular annual plant overhaul, expected to be completed by March 1st 2021, began on January 11th in the Lukavac Cement Factory.

Nedim Pašić, our technical director, pointed out that, after the overhaul, energy efficiency in clinker production and all environmental aspects of production will be further improved, with special emphasis on maximizing the share of alternative fuels and reducing fossil fuels in use.

“We consider the previous investments in the modernization and development of our cement plant in line with European norms to be a great achievement, because we have managed, in this way, to minimize the harmful effects on air quality and the environment. The best example is the fact that the official data of measuring air quality parameters in Lukavac and its surroundings show good quality during the summer when the factory is working at full capacity, while air pollution is significantly increased in the winter when we are not working. Our firm commitment is strict adherence to all prescribed measures for the protection of the environment as well as the safety and health of employees and citizens. Our focus is on projects for further business improvement and sustainable development, as well as initiatives and programs to support local community and young generations” – said Pašić.

Despite all the hardships brought by 2020, we have successfully and without interruption completed the production of cement according to the planned quantities, saved all jobs and achieved good sales results.
