An art competition called “My family member at Lukavac Cement” will be organized for the children of our employees.

All children/grandchildren can join the competition and show their abilities and skills in fine arts. This is an excellent opportunity for them to express their imagination and express how they imagine the workplace of their family members in Lukavac Cement from the aspect of work-related safety.

Yesterday, September 27, 2023, Lukavac Cement, a partner of the Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW) 2023, organized a panel discussion “The use of alternative fuels and the possibility of their production in Bosnia and Herzegovina” as part of the international conference “Energy transition – Path to a new energy and climate future of the region”.

From Friday until Tuesday, September 22-26, 2023, “Safety days” dedicated to fire protection were held in Lukavac Cement, involving all employees. It included both, theoretical as well as practical training. In order to check what has been learned, a final exam has been organized.

On Wednesday, September 27, from 1:40 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. at the Hills Hotel in Sarajevo, a panel discussion “Use of alternative fuels and the possibility of their production in BiH” will be organized and supported by Lukavac Cement. This will be an important event at the International Conference “Energy Transition – Path to a New Energy and Climate Future of the Region” within the Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW) 2023.

LUKAVAC CEMENT BECOMES THE FIRST COMPANY CERTIFIED UNDER ISO 37301:2021 IN BIH AND THE WESTERN BALKANS

Lukavac Cement is proud to announce that it has successfully passed a certification audit by completing the Compliance Management System certification process and became the first company in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans to be certified under ISO 37301:2021.

This is a great achievement for all of us. We once again proved to be the leading cement plant in BIH and the region committed to always staying a step ahead.

Last Friday, Lukavac Cement participated in the first ESG conference hosted by NLB Bank in Tuzla.

Under the banner “We Leave Better Traces,” the conference aimed to promote a green future and inspire individuals and companies to take more responsibility for improving life quality within our communities.

MINISTER POZDER VISITS LUKAVAC CEMENT

Yesterday, the management of Lukavac Cement hosted representatives of the federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, led by Minister Pozder, for a working visit to the Lukavac cement factory.  The visit’s objective was to familiarize the newly appointed minister with the cement production process and the responsibilities Lukavac Cement has in compliance with strict environmental standards.

As a leader in alternative fuels utilization, Lukavac Cement boasts a substitution rate of over 50% for fossil fuels with waste-derived alternative fuels. Representatives from the Ministry toured the facilities, gaining insights into the handling, storage, dosing and usage of RDF and SRF, alternative fuels sourced from municipal and industrial waste.
