DELEGATIONS FROM VELENJE AND PLJEVLJE VISITED LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY

As part of multi-day working visit to Lukavac Municipality, guests from Slovenia and Montenegro – specifically, delegation from Velenje Municipality led by Mayor Peter Dermol and delegation from Pljevlje Municipality led by Mayor Igor Golubovic – visited the Lukavac Cement Factory.

It was a great pleasure to show them one of the most modern cement plants and present them the results of our work so far, as well as future plans.

With the aim of supporting the health preservation of employees, the management of the Lukavac Cement Factory has approved appropriate funds to the workers’ union for their spa treatment.

Lukavac Cement Factory is always open to support important cultural and scientific events.

We sponsored the XIX TKT Festival – Days of Academic Theater 2021, which took place from 29^th November to 12^th December in Tuzla, as well as the Economics of Integration – ICEI 2021 “Economic response and recovery in relation to crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic”, seventh scientific conference with international participation which took place from 2^nd to 4^th December in Tuzla, organized by the Faculty of Economics, University of Tuzla.

EDUCATION FOR EMPLOYEES OF LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY

In November, we organized training on modern process management to further improve the knowledge and skills of our employees. For the training implementation, we hired Anita Zado Bešker from the Center for Development and Quality – Oskar d.o.o. Zagreb as a coach.

Two-day International Scientific and Professional Conference “SPHERE 2021: Technology of Concrete” ended yesterday in Sarajevo, where Lukavac Cement and Lukavac Beton successfully presented and showed all the possibilities of their technologies and products.

LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY IMPLEMENTED ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECT CO-FINANCED WITH FUNDS OF THE FBIH ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION FUND

The Lukavac Cement Factory has successfully completed an energy efficiency project co-financed by the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund. The project entitled “Modernization of the clinker production process using a more efficient and environmentally justified source of heat” has been implemented over the past 12 months.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “FROM WASTE TO GREEN ENERGY WITH LESS CO2” SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZED

On October 6^th, 2021, the Lukavac Cement Factory organized unique international conference “From waste to green energy with less CO₂” to mark 20 years of successful privatization. In compliance with all epidemiological measures, the conference brought together representatives of the construction industry, cement producers, representatives of the governmental and non-governmental sector, local communities and educational institutions. Eminent experts from Austria, Germany, Serbia and BiH highlighted as the main topic the initiation of changes in the field of waste disposal and its reuse in BiH and region, and drawing attention to the importance of green energy.

THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “FROM WASTE TO GREEN ENERGY WITH LESS CO₂”, ORGANIZED BY THE LUKAVAC CEMENT FACTORY, WILL GATHER EMINENT EXPERTS IN THIS AREA ON OCTOBER 6^th AT THE hotel HILLS SARAJEVO. Outstanding lecturers from Austria, Germany, Serbia and BIH will speak about current trends and approaches in the cement industry, use of alternative fuels, green energy, CO₂ reduction, but also on the perspective of energy use without compromising the environment in BiH and the region.

We have launched a new website www.gio.ba, which was created to bring closer the importance of using alternative fuels in the cement industry. By using waste fuel (GIO) or alternative fuel, we can achieve a balance of environmental and social aspects, while the ultimate goal is to achieve sustainability. Since 2012, our guide in the use of fuel from waste has been a responsible attitude towards waste and the development of a culture of proper waste management. Our new website contains all important information about alternative fuels, how to use them and their many benefits.
