In January, Lukavac Cement was visited by representatives of the UNDP Energy Sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who implement the IDA project. The purpose of the visit was the energy audit activities within this project.
On January 15, 2023, a tragic accident occurred within the Lukavac Cement where the employee Elhaid Ćosić died while performing his regular job. Everything happened under still unexplained circumstances.
Organized by the German institute DCC Delta Coal Control, we participated in the inter-laboratory comparison of tests related to the alternative fuel SRF and achieved an excellent result. The task for our laboratory and 53 other laboratories from Europe and the world was a detailed analysis of the same sample.
On November 17th, International Day of the Ecological Movement, the Lukavac Cement has prepared an action to plant new trees in the factory area. With the help of students of the IV and VIII grades of elementary school “Lukavac Grad” and their teachers Rabija Bektić and Hamida Toplak, 232 new birch, pine, linden and fir seedlings were successfully planted, reflecting the number of employees currently employed in Lukavac Beton and Lukavac Cement.

During the period from 6th to 12th November of 2022, Ethics and Compliance Week was marked for the first time at the Lukavac Cement which was a cause for dr. sc. Silvija Vig to held a professional lecture “Role and responsibility of managers in an effective compliance management system”.
During the past week, from November 2nd to 11th, we were visited by a total of 190 students enrolled in the 6th year of studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tuzla.
At the end of last week, we hosted the students of the third and fourth grades of the Combined High School for Construction and Geodesy from Tuzla.

Lukavac Cement has temporarily suspended production in its production facilities. The planned halt began on October 3, 2022 and will last until the end of this month. This is a common procedure that is carried out due to minor overhaul activities and adequate preparation for the work of cement plant until the end of the year.
On Saturday, September 24th, the 12th “Open Door Day” was held within the Lukavac Cement company. After a two-year break, over 2000 visitors of all generations gathered to enjoy a beautiful day and have a good fun.
